Sri Lanka Escape Tourism is a Sri Lankan tour operator that conducts (high-end) responsible tourism to support local traditional lifestyles, culture and environmental conservation in Sri Lanka . Our focus is on our customers. We realize that every traveler has a different set of wants and constraints when preparing for their journey and we make it our primary aim to include our clients in the process while achieving the very highest level of service possible, no matter what type of trip you need help planning.

Sri Lanka Escape Tourism initially began as a need for a funding initiative for the Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society. The SLWCS is the first organization to be established outside of Sri Lanka for the sole purpose of helping to conserve and preserve the dwindling biodiversity of the country. The Society is a 501c3 non-profit based in the US and a fully registered Voluntary Social Service Organization recognized by the Ministry of Social Services in Sri Lanka. Understanding that the sustainable conservation will only be achieved once a reasonable standard of living is achieved for all people, the SLWCS approaches biodiversity conservation simultaneously with community and economic development. As more people turned to the SLWCS for travel planning advice, we recognized that travelers wanted input in designing their journey, but needed the help of people who knew the real Sri Lanka . While we do provide our clients an opportunity to see the highlights of Sri Lanka and tour the country, we also try to give them an understanding of this tiny island nation and its people. Additionally, as avid travelers ourselves, we realize what impact tourists have on local economies and today more than ever, many travelers truly want to see how their dollars affect local communities. We are able to do this through our partnership with SWLCS; visiting project sites not open to the public and allowing visitors to see first hand some of the conservation work that is happening on the ground. Escape Tourism aims to provide a unique and memorable experience for each and every guest.

Our aim is to provide our clients with the best trips for them . Simultaneously, we want to show our clients where their tourism dollars are going and the impact it has on local communities. For these reasons, we keep our tours small and customized and we do not ‘package' our tours. While we are happy to provide you with sample tours, our mission is to customize each trip for the needs and wants of our clients. We recognize that no two client's wants and needs are the same.

Additionally, 30% of our profits go directly towards sustainable conservation projects.
